Job Description

• Title: Sr. Electronics Engineering Technician
• Location: Lockport, IL 60441
• Hire Type: Contract to Hire

Job Duties:

• Use schematics, oscilloscopes, and other tools to troubleshoot PCB assemblies to component level.
• Perform final "box build," testing, and calibration of Electrical Test & Measurement equipment.
• Repair, test, and calibrate customer units returned for service.
• Maintain production documentation, repair database, and inventory management.
• Communicate with customers regarding equipment performance and provide application assistance.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, production, and purchasing teams.

Requirements:

• Thorough knowledge of electrical and electronic theory.
• Experience reading schematics and troubleshooting systems and circuit assemblies.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and software applications.
• Proficiency with multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and electrical test equipment.
• Ability to use hand tools; SMT soldering experience is advantageous.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
• Strong judgment, decision-making, and organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills, oral and written.
• Team-oriented and conscientious approach.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2-year degree in electronics and/or military training.
• 2+ years experience in schematic reading and troubleshooting.

Physical Requirements:

• Extended periods of sitting, computer work, testing, and calibration.
• Good eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
