Job summary

Vallourec North America is seeking a Melt Shop Sr. Electrical Technician to design, support, and advance automation and electrical systems across our Melt Shop.

You will mentor technicians, lead outages, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining safety and reliability. The role requires extensive experience, exposure to SAP and AutoCAD, and a hands-on approach to troubleshoot complex industrial equipment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of industrial electrical/electronic maintenance experience.
• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and commission automation upgrades and capital projects within the Melt Shop.
• Support, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial electrical and automation equipment.
• Lead and support maintenance personnel and contractors while fostering strong communication across departments.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives (CIT, MADE, RCA, CAPEX) and equipment reliability efforts.
• Redline and update electrical schematics and manage technical documentation.
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs, inspections, and equipment delay reduction.
• Manage satellite inventory and ensure accuracy in SAP work orders and maintenance tracking.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to shift technicians and assist during startups and outages.
• Step in to support leadership responsibilities during supervisor absences.

What Sets You Apart

• 10+ years of industrial electrical/electronic maintenance experience preferred
• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field preferred
• Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
• Experience troubleshooting complex industrial systems and solving technical challenges
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with SAP and AutoCAD (or willingness to learn)
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated leadership capability and ability to work collaboratively without direct authority
