Summary:

The Estimator will analyze blueprints to determine material quantities, costs, and labor requirements, and collaborate with clients to secure contracts. The role also involves implementing measures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Essential Functions:

• Create and revise estimates, proposals, and change orders.
• Collaborate with business development and project management to prepare accurate proposals.
• Identify project cost trends for management to optimize costs and processes.
• Manage project handoff from estimating to project management after award.
• Request and review quotes from vendors and suppliers.
• Perform takeoffs for assigned projects and oversee team takeoffs.
• Lead bid processes by understanding RFPs and delegating tasks.
• Train new estimators on department strategies and processes.
• Follow up on pending bids regularly.

Position Qualifications (minimum):

• Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field or an Electrical Journeyman's License.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and quick learning of new software.
• Knowledge of the Electric Code and electrical theory.
• Ability to read drawings, specifications, and data sheets.
• Experience with electrical layout and design/build concepts.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Problem-solving skills for timely resolution of issues.
• Effective time management and multitasking abilities.
• Leadership qualities, balancing individual and team responsibilities.
• Self-motivated and adaptable to business changes.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Education & Experience:

• Minimum 8 years of electrical estimating experience.
• Experience in large commercial, industrial, or water treatment projects.
• Knowledge of electrical estimating software such as Accubid.
• Degree or license as specified above.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

This stationary role involves sitting, standing, repetitive motions, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. The employee must perform these functions efficiently.
