Job summary

RTX in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for Electrical Engineering within Mission Systems Resilient Connectivity Products. You will lead a team of engineers, guide the development of electronic solutions for tactical communications and autonomy, and ensure successful execution of programs.

The role requires onsite presence, U.S. citizenship with a Secret level clearance, and collaboration across internal and external partners.

Qualifications

  • Degree in STEM and a minimum of 10years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 7years of experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
  • Three years of experience leading cross-functional technical teams.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and cryptographic subsystems.
  • Experience in MBSE methodologies, specifically SysML, and experience guiding teams in integrating hardware solutions with these practices.
  • Special Access Programs experience preferred.

Position Summary

Senior Engineering Manager – Electrical Engineering, Mission Systems Resilient Connectivity Products, Fort Wayne, IN. Requires onsite presence and U.S. citizenship with an existing Secret security clearance.

What You Will Do
  • Lead a team of highly innovative engineers in the invention, development, building, and testing of electronic solutions that support tactical communications, weapons data links, trusted communications, open systems, and autonomy capabilities.
  • Oversee the electrical‑engineering execution of internally and externally funded programs and IR&D projects, striving for 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Develop innovation strategies through collaboration with internal and external customers and partner organizations throughout the company.
  • Collaborate across Mission Systems and RTX to support technology‑transition planning and recommend projects for independent research & development (IR&D).
  • Develop and nurture internal and external networks, forging relationships with peers across Mission Systems Engineering, Value Stream leadership, and Operations.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with high‑speed digital design, as well as AI & ML techniques.
  • Experience in building, mentoring, and growing high‑performing teams.
  • Knowledge of MBSE methodologies, specifically SysML, and experience guiding teams in integrating hardware solutions with these practices.
  • Stakeholder management ensuring alignment to business objectives while maintaining a customer‑centric approach.
  • Proven track record of driving team accountability for meeting project deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Highly self‑motivated, enthusiastic team leader who demonstrates creative problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
