Job Summary

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $33.80 - $40.70 (Hourly Rate).

Department Description
The Office of Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) is responsible for promoting environmental stewardship and a safe workplace at UCSF while helping to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to occupational safety and the environment
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or a General Education Diploma (GED)
- At least 2 years of experience in an environmental health and safety program or related work experience managing hazardous, medical, or radioactive waste; or two years of college including appropriate science courses and one year of experience in an environmental health and safety program; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledges and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
- Knowledge of how to safely work with hazardous materials
- Basic computer skills including the ability to use Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and the ability to wear appropriate personal protective clothing, including a full-face respirator is required
- This is a 'critical' position; fingerprinting and a background check are required
- Possession of a valid California Driver’s license with a good driving record is required.
- Incumbent is subject to DMV pull notice program.
- Ability to work a swing shift
- Ability to work during weekends and campus holidays as necessary to ensure coverage of EH&S activities
