Job description

MAU is hiring a Senior Engineer – Controls Technician for our client in Lexington, KY. As a Senior Engineer – Controls Technician, you will support and maintain OT / ICS infrastructure across North American manufacturing plants, ensuring optimal performance, safety compliance, and cybersecurity standards. This is a direct-hire opportunity and a fully remote role with up to 60% travel.

Shift Information :

  • Remote position with flexible hours
  • Travel up to 60% required

Required Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronics Technology, Instrumentation Technology, or Mechatronics Technology OR
  • Associate of Applied Science in a related field with certified training from Rockwell, Siemens, or Cisco, and 4 years of experience
  • 5–8 years of experience in consumer products controls work and plant support

Preferred Education and Experience :

  • Rockwell Automation product certifications
  • Project Management certifications

General Requirements :

  • Experience with Siemens PCS7, WinCC, Simatic Batch, and Route Control
  • Proficiency with Rockwell PLCs and software
  • Familiarity with industrial control system networks : Profinet, Ethernet IP, AS-I, IO Link
  • Working knowledge of OT networking, switches, VLANs, and IP addressing
  • Understanding of safety controls and SISTEMA compliance
  • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA70B, NFPA70E, and NFPA79
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and support OT / ICS systems
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration with internal and external teams
  • Commitment to continuous learning and industry awareness

Essential Functions :

  • Support OT network and ICS automation / process control systems in North American manufacturing plants
  • Support capital projects involving electrical or automation / process control components
  • Assist in data collection, Industry 4.0 migrations, OT networks, and cyber security initiatives
  • Lead and perform machine risk assessments to maintain safety standards
  • Ensure machine control systems meet or exceed SISTEMA Level D safety standards
  • Review documentation for new machinery to align with internal safety expectations
  • Provide subject matter expertise to third-party control systems support teams
  • Develop and maintain 5-year ICS automation and control equipment plans for obsolescence remediation
  • Stay current on trends through continuous learning
  • Perform other duties as assigned by our client
