Adventist Health Glendale is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to assist the RN and physician with assessments, examinations and treatments. This role performs essential unit secretary functions, triage support, and daily department operations to ensure high-quality patient care.

The position requires EMT or higher certification, CPR/BLS, and a willingness to work in a fast-paced ED environment with a strong emphasis on patient safety and teamwork.

Qualificações

• Mandatory CPR/BLS certification for AH policy.
• EMT Certification required or preferred depending on role.
• CNA, CMA or Paramedic certification preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Assists RN and MD/Provider with assessments, examinations and treatments.
• Documents patient care and vital signs; maintains readiness of equipment.
• Performs essential Unit Secretary duties and supports department operations.
• Acts as triage tech and prioritizes patient care and department needs.
• Maintains accurate records of care and specimens; assists in cost containment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Assists the Registered Nurse (RN) and MD/Provider with assessments, examinations and treatments. Performs a variety of technical and patient care duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Performs essential functions of the Unit Secretary. Assists in the daily functioning of the department. Functions as triage tech.

Job Requirements

Education and Work Experience:

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Two years' technical experience: Preferred
  

Licenses/Certifications

• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification: Preferred
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant (CMA) or Paramedic certification: Preferred
• Phlebotomist Technician license: Preferred
  

Facility Specific License/Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
  

Department Specific License/Certifications

• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or National Emergency Medical Tech (NEMT): Required
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) or TEAM-A: Required
  

Essential Functions

• Assists the Registered Nurse (RN) and physician with assessments, examinations and treatments. Documents patient care performed, including vital signs, bedside care and observations.
• Maintains state of readiness by maintaining equipment/supplies appropriate to the position. Assists in cost containment through the appropriate ordering and conserving of supplies and equipment.
• Provides patient and family education and mentors and trains staff on technical skills within scope of practice.
• Prioritizes patient care and department needs, sets goals, and organizes time to meet daily demands of nursing care.
• Documents patient care performed, including vital signs, bedside care and observations. Records and collects specimens.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
