Job summary

Siemens Healthineers is seeking a Sr. Dosimetrist to join the radiation oncology team and contribute to advanced dose planning and simulation. You will generate dose distributions, contour targets, and support IGRT workflow across CT, MRI, and PET datasets.

Responsibilities include plan design, immobilization guidance, and cross-disciplinary communication to ensure accurate delivery and documentation of prescribed doses.

Qualifications

• Generates radiation dose distributions and dose calculations with oncologist collaboration.
• Designs treatment plans using optimal beam geometry to meet prescriptions.
• Identifies and contours structures using CT/MRI/PET data and performs image registration.

Responsibilities

• Create and transfer reference images and localization markers for IGRT (DRRs, CBCTs).
• Supervise or assist in simulations and tumor localization using CT, MRI and PET.
• Plan and implement fabrication of compensators, shields, wedges and other beam-modifying devices.
• Communicate with radiation therapists to ensure proper plan implementation and immobilization.
• Perform dose calculations and verify accuracy in the patient record.

• Serves as a member of the radiation oncology team with knowledge of the overall characteristics and clinical relevance of the radiation oncology treatment machines and equipment. Has the education and expertise to generate radiation dose distributions and dose calculations in collaboration with the radiation oncologist.


• Design a treatment plan by means of computer and/or manual computation with optimal beam geometry to deliver a prescribed radiation dose and spare critical structures in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist's prescription.


• Identify and contour normal and dose-limiting structures by utilizing images from one or more data sets. Assumes proficiency in image registration with various image data sets to include CT, MRI and PET.


• Create and transfer reference images and localization markers for portal verification and treatment delivery to include DRRs, CBCTs and other IGRT methods, as specified.


• Supervise, perform, or assist in simulations and tumor localization using specified imaging devices including, but not limited to CT, MRI, and PET.


• Supervise, perform, or assist in the planning and implementation of the fabrication of compensation filters, custom shields, wedges, and other beam modifying devices.


• Supervise, perform, or assist in the planning and implementation of the production of molds, casts, and other immobilization devices.


• Communicate with the radiation therapist(s) and assume an advisory role in the implementation of the treatment plan including: the correct use of immobilization devices, compensators, wedges, field arrangement, and other treatment or imaging parameters.


• Perform calculations for the accurate delivery of the prescribed dose, document all pertinent information in the patient record, and verify the mathematical accuracy of all calculations by an approved method.

The base pay range for this position is:

$134,300 - $184,668

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
