Job summary

Siemens Healthineers is seeking a Radiation Oncology team member to design treatment plans and perform dose calculations in collaboration with the Radiation Oncologist. You will contour structures on CT/MRI/PET images, create reference images for portal verification, and supervise simulations for precise tumor localization using CT, MRI, and PET imaging devices.

Responsibilities

• Design a treatment plan with beam geometry to deliver prescribed dose while sparing critical structures.
• Contour normal structures using CT/MRI/PET data and perform image registration.

Serves as a member of the radiation oncology team with knowledge of the overall characteristics and clinical relevance of the radiation oncology treatment machines and equipment. Has the education and expertise to generate radiation dose distributions and dose calculations in collaboration with the radiation oncologist.* Design a treatment plan by means of computer and/or manual computation with optimal beam geometry to deliver a prescribed radiation dose and spare critical structures in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist's prescription.

• Identify and contour normal and dose-limiting structures by utilizing images from one or more data sets. Assumes proficiency in image registration with various image data sets to include CT, MRI and PET.
• Create and transfer reference images and localization markers for portal verification and treatment delivery to include DRRs, CBCTs and other IGRT methods, as specified.
• Supervise, perform, or assist in simulations and tumor localization using specified imaging devices including, but not limited to CT, MRI, and PET.
• Supervise, perform, or assist in the planning and implementation of the fabrication of compensation filters, custom shields, wedges, and other beam modifying devices.
• Supervise, perform, or assist in the planning and implementation of the production of molds, casts, and other immobilization devices.
• Communicate with the radiation therapist(s) and assume an advisory role in the implementation of the treatment plan including: the correct use of immobilization devices, compensators, wedges, field arrangement, and other treatment or imaging parameters.
• Perform calculations for the accurate delivery of the prescribed dose, document all pertinent information in the patient record, and verify the mathematical accuracy of all calculations by an approved method.

The base pay range for this position is:

$134,300 - $184,668

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
