Job summary

Salesforce is seeking an experienced backend engineer to design, implement, and operate large-scale cloud infrastructure. You will build and maintain distributed systems in public cloud environments, emphasizing availability, security, and performance.

Expect to work with Python, Kubernetes, Docker, and IaC tooling in a fast-paced, collaborative setting. The role involves on-call rotations, cross-team collaboration, and contributing to open source tooling while expanding our cloud automation

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of backend software development experience (Python)
• Hands-on Linux systems administration and troubleshooting
• Experience with public cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure) at scale
• CI/CD experience with Jenkins and Travis CI
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Git)
• Knowledge of DNS, load balancing, SSL, TCP/IP, HTTP and networking basics
• Comfort with Open Source technologies and contributing to cloud tooling
• Strong problem solving, design patterns, and concurrency understanding
• Experience with monitoring/observability platforms (Grafana) and on-call rotations

Responsibilities

• Deliver cloud infrastructure automation tools, frameworks, workflows and validation platforms
• Design, develop, debug, and operate resilient distributed systems across data centers
• Develop infrastructure-as-code and microservices on container platforms (Kubernetes, Docker)
• Resolve complex technical issues and drive improvements in availability and performance
• Participate in on-call rotations to keep services operational

Good knowledge of Linux internals.Proven professional work experience with Python. In-depth understanding of OOP, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and concurrency.Public cloud engineering on GCP, AWS, and or Azure platforms.
