Job summary

Nationwide-Children seeks a dedicated professional to oversee transitional work, return-to-work, and accommodation programs for employees with medical restrictions or injuries. This role partners with managers, HR, healthcare providers, and others to evaluate work capacity and implement safe, compliant accommodations.

Responsibilities include reviewing medical documentation, monitoring progress, maintaining case records, and educating staff on the accommodation and workers’ compensation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Case Management, or related field, or equivalent experience, required.
  • Two years of case management experience in occupational health, disability management, workers’ compensation, or related setting, required.
  • Experience reviewing medical records, work restrictions, and functional capacity information, required.
  • Experience working with self-insured employers, third-party administrators, and Workers’ Compensation carriers, required.

  • Reviews medical documentation and work restrictions to determine appropriate accommodations.
  • Monitors employee progress and adjusts return-to-work plans based on medical updates and functional capabilities.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation of case activities, communications, accommodations, and outcomes.
  • Serves as a liaison and collaborates with employees, managers, HR staff, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective case coordination and resolution.
  • Provides education for employees and managers on accommodation, return-to-work, and Workers’ Compensation processes.
  • Participates in case conferences and claim review meetings as needed.
