Capital One is seeking a Senior Director of Software Engineering to lead, manage, and mentor multiple teams in Stability & Engineering Operations, delivering resilient, scalable software across the enterprise.

You will influence executives, shape strategy and architecture, and champion modern cloud, observability, and development practices, with proven experience in AWS, Java, Python, Salesforce, and distributed systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 9+ years of software engineering or software development experience.
• 7+ years of people management experience.
• 5+ years of public cloud experience (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Responsibilities

• Influence executive stakeholders and guide strategy.
• Lead, manage and grow multiple software engineering teams.
• Mentor engineers on professional and technical development.
• Define strategy, roadmaps and destination architecture with product leads.
• Manage diverse technology platforms and scalable applications.
