Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead cloud operations resilience across a portfolio of distributed microservices and full-stack systems. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that serve millions of customers.

Expect to work with Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, TypeScript, and various AWS services, containers, and CI/CD practices in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
• At least 4 years of software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full stack systems.
• Mentor other engineers and participate in internal technology communities.
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions for end users.
• Utilize Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript and databases; leverage Docker and Kubernetes and AWS services.
• Provide technical leadership across Agile teams and set standards for design, development, and operational excellence.
