Overview

The Senior Director of Product Management oversees the strategy, development, and execution of the product roadmap across multiple product lines within ISACA’s portfolio. This role ensures that product initiatives align with organizational goals, respond to market needs, and deliver customer value while supporting growth in adoption, engagement, and revenue.

Working cross-functionally with marketing, sales, content, learning, membership, and customer support, the Senior Director plays a pivotal role in delivering solutions that are relevant, impactful, and market-leading. This requires a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on management to drive product outcomes in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The Senior Director leads a team of product managers, guiding prioritization, market analysis, and execution across product lifecycles. This leader must bring strong product management expertise, team leadership experience, operational excellence, and a customer-first mindset to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Product Vision, Strategy, and Stakeholder Communication:
    • Collaborate with the VP of Product and other cross-functional stakeholders on the development of enterprise product strategy
    • Lead the execution of a forward-looking, enterprise-aligned product strategy that supports ISACA’s mission, long-term goals, and evolving market opportunities.
    • Drive the long-term vision and strategy for ISACA products, collaborating with volunteer groups and staff to achieve alignment.
    • Effectively communicate with stakeholders, including executives and key team members, providing product updates and gaining support for initiatives.
  • Innovation, Industry Awareness, Market Analysis and Planning:
    • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and voice of customer efforts to identify market trends, user needs, and new product and enhancement opportunities.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovations to maintain product competitiveness.
    • Anticipate future market requirements through detailed market analysis, research, and competitor assessments.
    • Collaborate with ISACA members, customers, partners, and internal teams to understand product needs and explore areas for innovation.
  • Product Planning, Channel Management and Partnerships:
    • Lead the definition of product requirements, features, and specifications in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
    • Lead the collaborative development of both long and short-term channel-specific business plans based on market trends and competitor analysis to maximize product growth.
    • Identify and direct strategic initiatives to maximize ISACA’s return on investment for products and services across channels.
    • Identify product partners and pursue resell / licensing / partnership agreements where appropriate for key products
    • Work with partners to drive growth of ISACA products across all channels.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration and Product Launch Management:
    • Collaborate with various teams, such as design, marketing, sales, and customer support, to ensure a cohesive product launch across channels.
    • Lead functional teams to execute the product strategy and internally evangelize ISACA’s product strategies for organizational alignment.
    • Plan and execute product launches, including go-to-market strategies, messaging, and marketing materials to ensure successful product introductions.
    • Drive market adoption through GTM strategies in conjunction with marketing and global sales.
    • Support B2C, B2B direct and B2B2C in GTM strategies, defining operational consistency and efficiency, sales engineering and ongoing product support.
  • Customer-Centric Approach and Pricing Strategy:
    • Incorporate customer feedback, user testing, and insights into the product development process to create customer-centric solutions.
    • Initiate and develop pricing strategies/guidelines, recommending actions and promotional programs in support of product go-to-market strategy and revenue plans.
    • Establish and track key metrics/KPIs and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Budget Management and Profitability:
    • Manage the product management budget effectively, allocate resources efficiently, and optimize costs.
    • Oversee the product line P&L, guiding the budgeting and forecasting process to ensure profitability.
  • Supervisory responsibility

    • Hires, trains, develops, and evaluates direct reports ensuring staff develop knowledge and skills necessary to drive ISACA’s success as well as their own.

  • Other Job Functions:

    • Responds to proposal requests with comprehensive responses that address the client’s organizational needs and challenges.

    • Supports relationships with key partners, industry and trade associations, representatives of government, public service organizations, customers, analysts and vendors as necessary in the overall management of the product and service delivery to the market.

    • Contributes to marketing, communications, and public relations content (e.g. data sheets, whitepapers, marketing collateral, blogs, articles, press releases, briefings and presentations, both for internal and external stakeholders, industry analysts, press/media) by working with ISACA’s PR and communications teams. etc.)

    • Contributes to communications around new releases.

Minimum Years of Experience Required:

  • 10 years

  • Successful candidates will have experience:
    • Leading a product team
    • Developing and launching successful new product business strategies and initiatives
    • Developing strategic and tactical plans to support product growth and development
    • Marketing processes/methodologies including market needs analysis, competitive analysis, product planning, marketing programs, sales programs, branding, pricing, etc.
    • Sales processes/methodologies including sales enablement programs, sales training, sales incentive programs
    • Working in a multi-channel product distribution model (B2C, B2B, B2B2C, etc.)
    • Interacting and forming trusting relationships with internal and external customers from a variety of backgrounds and experiences
    • Working in a global product environment.

  • MBA

Preferred Years of Experience:

  • 12+ years

  • Experience with a Professional Association or role involving volunteer engagement
