Summary

The Sr. Director, Payroll Operations oversees customer teams responsible for delivering payroll, tax, and garnishment services for multiple companies in an outsourcing environment. Reporting to the Vice President of Payroll Services, this role is a key part of the payroll/tax/garnishment outsourcing operations group.

Responsibilities
  1. Establish and oversee payroll operations, processes, and procedures. Develop strategies for continuous improvement and efficiency. Keep stakeholders informed about payroll laws and regulations, and plan for necessary operational changes.
  2. Identify and analyze business needs and requirements.
  3. Create and document processes related to daily, quarterly, and annual payroll and garnishment processing.
  4. Manage timely resolution of customer issues, including escalations.
  5. Perform Root Cause Analysis and implement corrective actions.
  6. Handle payroll, garnishment, and tax issues promptly on behalf of clients.
  7. Deliver excellent customer service across all payroll, garnishment, and tax processes.
  8. Manage HR and performance appraisals for team members, including training, goal setting, and professional development.
  9. Ensure high-quality service delivery to clients.
  10. Manage audit tasks and controls for the annual review period.

Requirements
  • 8+ years’ experience in payroll operations within a multi-company, multi-state organization, preferably in outsourcing.
  • 3+ years managing payroll operations, preferably in outsourcing.
  • Experience with ACH Credit, ACH Debit, and check payments and collections.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, with strong communication skills.
  • Experience with ERP HR/Payroll systems.
  • Passion for customer service.
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or MIS.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).
