About The Role

This role requires a deep understanding of MVB’s business operations to architect technical data solutions that support ongoing strategic needs. It involves direct management of the day-to-day activities related to the centralized data infrastructure, including data ingestion, transformation, storage, and analytics. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision making through the design, governance, and oversight of data functions. Contribute to the continuous improvement of our data infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

• Lead development of analytic data products, including pilots and proof of concepts
• Execute data strategies with an understanding of enterprise architecture, consumption patterns, platforms, and application infrastructure
• Direct centralized data governance, platform operations, data sourcing, and reporting/consumption processes across the company with support of the business data owners and stewards.
• Modernize data design practices, focusing on optimizing design activities across multiple data platforms, including Snowflake warehouses and SaaS platform integration
• Advance knowledge management practices to enable leveraging deep subject matter expertise and increasing the speed and quality of data analysis
• Manage the operationalizing and automating of capabilities to ensure secure, supported, and scalable solutions
• Work with team partners to ensure strong access controls, data encryption, protection, and privacy compliance (e.g., CCPA)
• Monitor system performance
• Direct, train, coach, and mentor Data practitioners; foster collaboration
• Implement team processes, governing documents, and procedures
• Maintain relationships with partner teams to meet needs and plan work accordingly
• Work with large datasets, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and performance, including data validation, quality checks, and metrics
• Oversee data transformation, integration, and validation processes supporting analytics and reporting
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues collaboratively

Education & Work Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technology-related field, engineering, business, mathematics, or equivalent experience
• Certifications in Data management (e.g., Certified Data Professional) and other relevant certifications are encouraged
• 10+ years in data engineering/enterprise data governance, with at least 4 years in a managerial role
• 4 years of experience with strategic data architecture, information systems, and visualization techniques
• Advanced knowledge of data tools, cloud platforms, programming languages (e.g., Python, Snowflake, AWS)
• Versatility and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
• High integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive data
• Alignment with company strategic goals and core values
