Sr. Director, Business Development (Industrial/Mining Construction)

Role Overview

The Sr. Director of Business Development is responsible for developing new business contacts, managing existing customer relations, and driving sales in the mining/mineral processing, material handling, and industrial markets.

Location & Travel

This is a remote position based anywhere in the U.S., supporting operations nationwide with up to 50% travel to regional offices. The role offers an annual incentive plan and vehicle allowance.

MasTec’s CE&I segment generates over $4 billion annually, providing construction services in industrial, renewables, and infrastructure sectors. Our expertise includes manufacturing, decarbonization, power generation, civil construction, utilities, roads, bridges, and renewable energy projects. We prioritize sustainability and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and develop sales opportunities through industry research, client outreach, trade shows, and site visits.
  • Build relationships with owners, developers, architects, and decision-makers.
  • Collaborate with leadership and project teams on business leads and strategies.
  • Establish and achieve sales and marketing goals, manage budgets, and develop marketing plans.
  • Maintain a CRM database for potential clients and projects.
  • Travel regularly to client sites and industry events.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor direct reports.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years in marketing/sales within construction-related services preferred.
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and CRM tools.
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and work independently.
  • Knowledge of safety programs and regulations.
Physical Demands

Prolonged sitting, working at a computer, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
