We are a fast-growing, multi-location organization undergoing transformation and expansion. We’re looking for a Senior Director of Accounting Operations to lead and strengthen our transactional finance functions. This individual will be responsible for overseeing key operational accounting cycles—including billing, collections, payables, and cash management—while driving process improvements, supporting compliance efforts, and enhancing operational efficiency across the enterprise.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all transactional accounting operations across the organization, including cash application, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and expense management.
- Design and develop team structures and workflows to ensure high performance and alignment with business goals.
- Lead the Order to Cash and Requisition to Pay processes in partnership with cross-functional leaders.
- Monitor and analyze payables and receivables to support optimal working capital utilization; partner with Treasury on forecasting and planning.
- Ensure accuracy of journal entries and compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and audit requirements.
- Lead the timely execution of monthly and quarterly close processes for Cash, A/R, and A/P.
- Produce consolidated receivables and payables reports with actionable insights to support business decisions.
- Partner cross-functionally to resolve sales, procurement, or supply chain-related accounting issues.
- Drive continuous improvement of systems and processes within the accounting operations function.
- Lead regulatory compliance efforts related to reporting, including timely 1099 submissions.
- Serve as a key point of contact for both internal and external audit processes.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development for accounting operations team members.
- Act as a strategic finance partner to business leaders and support organizational initiatives with financial insights.
- Collaborate on system upgrades and implementations to optimize financial processes.
- Deliver ad hoc reporting and analysis as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; MBA or equivalent preferred.
- CPA or Chartered Accountant certification strongly preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting operations experience, including people management.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SOX controls, and accounting operations best practices.
- Prior experience in a complex, fast-paced, and highly regulated environment preferred.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage through change.
