One of our companies is currently looking for a Head of Revenue Accounting in United States.

As the Head of Revenue Accounting, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of revenue accounting, ensuring accurate revenue recognition, billing, and transaction processing. You will collaborate with multiple teams, including Sales, Legal, and Operations, to ensure smooth and compliant financial operations. This role requires strong technical expertise in revenue recognition under ASC 606, combined with excellent leadership skills to mentor a high-performing team. The ideal candidate will drive continuous improvements in accounting processes while maintaining effective communication across all levels of the organization.

Accountabilities

  • Oversee and manage revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606, ensuring accurate financial reporting across all revenue streams.
  • Lead and manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, FP&A, Legal, etc.) to ensure correct billing processes and accurate invoicing based on contract terms.
  • Guide and mentor the revenue and accounts receivable teams, providing training and support to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Champion continuous process improvement, utilizing data-driven insights to streamline revenue, AR, and reporting functions.
  • Ensure proper customer setup, contract review, and billing processes to maintain clean records and accurate financials.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation required.
  • Experience with SaaS or technology companies, specifically in the Quote-to-Cash cycle, contract review, and revenue recognition.
  • In-depth knowledge of software revenue recognition under ASC 606.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage Intacct, Salesforce CPQ, or Avalara Avatax.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical accounting concepts into business operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
