Job summary

STACK Infrastructure is seeking a Sr. Director, Accounting in Denver, CO to oversee equity accounting, intercompany transactions, and the shared services function. You will partner with Tax, Treasury, and FP&A to align accounting with business strategies and data center projects.

You will build and lead a high-performing accounting team, ensure SOX compliance, and drive process improvements and ERP enhancements to support growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
  • 15+ years progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within data center, real estate, infrastructure, or capital-intensive industry.
  • Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, equity accounting, and consolidation across multi-entity structures.
  • Proven experience leading shared services and driving accounting process improvements.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills with a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee equity-related accounting and capital statements, dividend and distribution calculations, reconciliations, and discrepancy research.
  • Lead intercompany accounting across multiple entities, ensuring accurate recording, reconciliations, and eliminations; assist with new intercompany system.
  • Oversee Shared Services including Accounts Payable and Payroll; drive process improvements and automation; monitor KPIs and SLAs.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Accounting Department; ensure SOX compliance and strong internal controls.
  • Partner with Tax, Treasury, and FP&A on entity structure, funding, and capital flows; support consolidation for reporting and audits.

Data runs on STACK.THE POSITIONThe Sr. Director, Accounting is a key role supporting a wide range of accounting roles.Equity AccountingOversee all equity-related accounting and work closely with the private equity partners.Oversee the capital statements, dividend and distribution calculations, account reconciliations and discrepancy research.Ensure proper integration with financial reporting tools.Intercompany AccountingLead intercompany accounting across multiple legal entities, ensuring accurate transaction recording, reconciliations, and eliminations. Assist with the preparation for a new intercompany system.Develop and maintain policies for intercompany settlements, allocations, monthly reporting.Collaborate with Tax, Treasury, and FP&A teams on entity structure, funding, and capital flows.Ensure complete and accurate consolidation of intercompany balances for financial reporting and audit purposes.Shared ServicesOversee the Shared Services organization, managing core accounting operations including Accounts Payable and Payroll accounting.Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and internal controls.Develop and monitor KPIs and SLAs to measure service quality, accuracy, and timeliness.Partner with technology and finance teams to implement ERP enhancements and automation tools that support organizational growth.Leadership & StrategyServe as an advisor to the Accounting Department, providing insights on accounting implications for strategic initiatives, system implementations and investments.Build and lead a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional development.Ensure strong internal controls, SOX compliance, and adherence to financial policies and procedures.Partner with Finance, Development, and Operations to align accounting practices with business strategy and data center project execution.Lead initiatives that enhance the efficiency and scalability of the accounting organization through technology and process improvements.THE DETAILS:Location: Denver, CO – at least 3 days in officeTravel: less than 10%Benefits: Healthcare, Dental Care, Vision Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, Paid Leave ProgramsMust be eligible to work in the United StatesMust pass comprehensive background screeningMUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a data center, real estate, infrastructure, or capital-intensive industry.Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, equity accounting, and consolidation across multi-entity structures.Proven experience leading shared services functions and driving accounting process improvements.Strong technical knowledge of accounting systems (Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, or similar) and automation tools.Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills with a strong attention to detail.Compensation Range:$192,920.00 - $216,240.00THIS MIGHT BE RIGHT FOR YOU IF:You are a strong communicator, you are persuasive and clear, blending analytics with experience in decision-making.You do not get flustered easily.
