Must have skills

• 4+ years of DevOps, software engineering, or systems engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and shell scripting.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible automation.
• Deep understanding of Linux (RHEL) administration.
• Ability to log into Linux systems, navigate, troubleshoot, and analyze logs.
• Experience with Docker or Kubernetes in production environments.
• Familiarity with GitFlow workflows.
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar backend databases.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and enhance automation pipelines supporting Verizon’s multi-cloud environment.
• Develop tooling and automation using Python, Ansible, and shell scripting.
• Administer and troubleshoot systems in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.
• Access, review, and analyze system logs (syslogs) for troubleshooting and performance optimization.
• Support containerized workloads using Docker and/or Kubernetes.
• Work within GitFlow for version control, branching, and release management.
• Support backend components, including PostgreSQL and related data workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, integration, and architecture groups.
• Maintain strong availability during core hours and communicate consistently via Slack.
• Contribute to automation and AI-related initiatives (AI experience is a plus; training will be provided).
