Job summary

Keystone Engineering Inc. in Nassau Bay is seeking a Sr. Civil/Structural Designer for our Houston area team. This full-time role includes office-based work with occasional site visits and collaboration with engineering groups to produce detailed, accurate drawings.

Responsibilities include ensuring design quality, conducting site surveys, and maintaining project data. Strong communication and 5–15 years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 5–15 years of working experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D for grading and plan/profiles.
• Field / Walk-down experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Ensure constructability, operability, and maintainability of designs.
• Carry out site surveys and walk-down drawings to identify tie points and routing.
• Collaborate with Lead Designers and Engineering teams to complete deliverables.
• Develop design configurations for project scope.
• Provide technical input into design development and cost-effective solutions.
• Prepare detailed design drawings per requirements and deliverables.
• Maintain a Job Data Book with project information.
• Review drawings for completeness and quality.
• Direct final drawing plots and transmittals.
• Monitor project schedules and budgets; assist with audits.

Keystone Engineering is currently seeking an experienced Sr. Civil/Structural Designer to join our Nassau Bay team.

Position Type: Full Time

Work Environment/Physical Demands: Office/Sedentary

Travel Requirements: Occasional site visits required

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for the constructability, operability, and maintainability of project designs.
• Carry out site surveys, gather information per job scope (with or without client), and walk down drawings to recognize tie points, field routing piping, tray, supports, etc.
• Work closely with Lead Designers and Engineering teams to complete project deliverables.
• Develop design configurations associated with various systems applicable to the project scope.
• Provide comprehensive, efficient, and cost-effective technical input into design development.
• Prepare detailed design drawings in accordance with engineering design requirements and project deliverables.
• Maintain and organize a Job Data Book containing all pertinent information used during the design phase of the project.
• Review drawings regularly for completeness, quality, and adherence to standards.
• Ensure all drawings are properly checked and backchecked for accuracy.
• Prepare and/or direct the preparation of final drawing plots and copies for transmittal as part of project deliverables.
• Maintain awareness of project schedules, budgets, and timelines.
• Assist with project audits when required.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5 - 15 years of working experience
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D to do grading and plan/profiles
• Field / Walk-down experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated, creative, organized, and solution-oriented advocate

• Experience with foundations and steel software
