Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant data science experience.
• Experience in agile, sprint-based environments preferred.
• Experience in hospitality, retail, or customer-service oriented industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to multiple complex DS projects with minimal supervision.
• Hands-on AI/ML model development and implementation.
• Enhance personalization and commercial strategies with analytics models.
• Develop, tune, scale, and deploy predictive models; orchestrate next best actions.
• Monitor and analyze model performance and CI/CD processes.
• Peer-review code and validate data pipelines and modeling approaches.
• Collaborate with data scientists and SMEs to deploy models.
• Work with analysts/engineers to define data requirements and preprocess data.
• Create presentations with insights and recommendations for stakeholders.
• Develop A/B test framework and optimize KPIs through experiments.

THE JOB:

MGM Resorts International has embarked on a multi-year journey in a 1:1 personalization initiative to redefine the casino resort, hospitality, and entertainment experience for guests. The Senior Data Scientist is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned data science professional to contribute to these personalization initiatives. This hands‑on individual contributor role will develop and evolve AI/ML models and their orchestration to drive customer engagement and business value. The position is part of the Commercial Data Science team within MGM’s Marketing organization and collaborates closely with Commercial Strategy, Customer Engagement, Loyalty, Creative, Product, and Engineering teams. The role is responsible for end-to-end data science contributions, including data munging and normalization, feature engineering, modeling, hyper-parameter tuning, deployment, experimental design, test execution, and measurement.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Independently contribute to multiple complex Data Science projects with minimal supervision
• Perform hands‑on tasks of a seasoned SME of AI/ML model development and implementation
• Make significant enhancement to the personalization and commercial strategies by adding Data Science and analytic models
• Develops predictive and statistical models. Hyper-parameter-tunes, scales, and deploys models. Orchestrates next best actions, maintains Data Science CI/CD framework, and improves decision
• support systems. Executes processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance
• Peer-reviews code, writes unit tests, and provides feedback on data pipeline and modeling approaches
• Collaborates with other data scientist and recognized subject matter experts in developing and deploying models
• Collaborates with analysts and engineers to specify data requirements. Performs data collection, mining, pre-processing, normalization, and feature engineering
• Creates audience appropriate documents and presentations with insights, results, and recommendations; and presents those to business partners/stakeholders and non-technical audiences
• Develops company A/B test framework, evaluates model quality, conducts test/learn experiments, tests hypotheses, and literally improves data science models to optimize corporate KPIs

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Have a Bachelor’s Degree
• Has 5+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience
• Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, operations research, economics, or STEM related fields - Preferred
• Proven experience balancing quality of output with short timelines such as developing minimum viable product- Preferred
• Experience in agile–sprint-based approach - Preferred
• Experience in hospitality, retail, or customer-service oriented industry - Preferred
