Job description

SQL DBA with LifePro Experience - Domain Remote

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage SQL Server databases, ensuring performance, security, and availability.
  • Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and archival strategies using native SQL Server tools.
  • Utilize diagnostic and maintenance tools such as DBCC, SQLDiag, SQL Profiler, and third-party diagnostics.
  • Design and manage partitioning architecture.
  • Handle multiple processing schedules and notification strategies.
  • Develop and optimize T-SQL scripts, PowerShell scripts, and perform tuning and debugging.
  • Manage SQL Server replication and mirroring.
  • Implement security and access strategies for diverse user groups.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams on database design and changes.
  • Understand and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 10+ years of SQL Server DBA experience.
  • Experience with SQL Server versions 2005, 2008, and 2012, with knowledge of benefits of newer versions.
  • Experience in database data management, including backups, ETL, and archiving.
  • Proficiency with SQL Server management tools such as SQL Server Management Studio, Visual Studio, DTS/SSIS, Profiler, and command-line utilities.
  • Strong skills in T-SQL, DOS, PowerShell, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with security/access management for varied user groups.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and work independently.
  • Adaptability to fast-paced environments.
  • Understanding of high availability and disaster recovery requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) or higher certifications on SQL Server 2005, 2008, or 2012.
  • Experience in data modeling and metadata management.

Education:

BS/BA degree in a related technical discipline.
