Job summary

Apple is seeking a data engineer to build and scale the data infrastructure powering iCloud insights and high-quality reporting for business decisions. Located in Austin, TX, you will contribute to data pipelines, model design, and ensure reliable data for DS&A and stakeholder teams.

You will collaborate across teams to tackle complex problems with an agile approach, translate requirements into scalable data solutions, and surface patterns across storage, engagement, and commerce data to support

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or business intelligence roles, building and maintaining complex data pipelines and data models at scale.
• Strong SQL proficiency for querying, manipulating, and analyzing large datasets.
• Advanced Python and distributed computing with Spark for data manipulation and analytics.

• Collaborate across multiple teams to tackle complex problems quickly using an agile approach with strong attention to detail
• Partner with insights engineering and data science peers to understand requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions that improve automation and reliability of core iCloud workflows
• Develop systems that surface patterns across iCloud storage, subscription, engagement, and commerce data to support consistent and accurate organizational reporting
• Shape how iCloud data is structured, governed, and delivered over time to improve analytical data ecosystem quality, coverage, and efficiency

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or business intelligence roles, with demonstrated expertise building and maintaining complex data pipelines and data models at scale
• Strong SQL proficiency, including proven ability to query, manipulate, and analyze internet-scale data structures and very large datasets
• Advanced proficiency in Python (or similar) and experience with distributed computing frameworks such as Spark for complex data manipulation and analytics
• Demonstrated experience with data engineering tools and concepts, including pipeline development, data model design, and aggregation strategies for analytics and reporting
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex data concepts for diverse audiences (product, business, and engineering stakeholders)
• Strong time management skills to balance multiple projects with competing priorities
• BS in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, Economics, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced technology company, digital subscription business, or e-commerce platform, working within complex data ecosystems
• Familiarity with data governance, data quality frameworks, or metadata management concepts
• MS in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, Economics, or a related field

Pay & Benefits

• Base pay range: USD 184,700 to 324,800 per year
