Job description

We have an immediate need for a Senior Data Engineer, BI & ML to join our client, a leading pediatric healthcare system. The Senior Data Engineer, BI & ML will play a key role in technology initiatives to advance health analytics and data sciences. Your focus will be to improve the usability, performance, and architecture of the Data Platform.

Location:

Orange, CA (Remote)

Compensation:

This position offers an annual salary of approximately $155,000 - $195,000 plus benefits.

Responsibilities:

1. Adhere to sprint methodologies, focusing on delivering incremental business value.
2. Develop reliable, large-scale data processing pipelines, architectural components, reusable frameworks, and data models to support enterprise data warehouses, feature stores, and machine learning platforms.
3. Design systems, data products, and data production processes with an emphasis on data curation, exchange, security, integrity, and environment management.
4. Collaborate with business stakeholders, data scientists, and leadership to develop sustainable healthcare data architecture supporting current and future needs.
5. Maintain and optimize the data platform and stay updated with emerging technologies and internal needs.
6. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and completeness of workflows.
7. Manage data practices, databases, information systems, and related documentation and standards.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
2. Experience with data lakes and modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks, AWS).
3. Experience working with AWS in large organizational settings.
4. Knowledge of data engineering best practices.
5. Experience with Machine Learning Operations (ML Ops) is preferred.
6. Expertise in healthcare data architecture and data modeling is required.
7. Proficiency in Python, Spark, and PySpark is preferred.
8. Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus.
