PLEASE NOTE: This is a 6-month contract to hire and needs to meet Client full-time conversion policies. Those dependent on a work permit sponsor now or anytime in the future (i.e., H1B, OPT, CPT, etc.) do not meet Client requirements for this opening.

Location: Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC

Top 3 Must Haves:

1. Strong knowledge of Legacy tech stack including Oracle Database, PL/SQL, Autosys, Hadoop, stored procedures, Shell scripting, etc.
2. Experience with Snowflake cloud data platform, including hands-on experience with utilities like Snow SQL, Snow pipe
3. Experience with DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Udeploy, etc.

Team Structure:

8-member team with 5 Data Engineers, 1 BDA, 1 QA, and currently looking for a Sr. Data Engineer.

Responsibilities:

Technical analysis, development, and leading/supporting the team on Production Support and Maintenance (Discretionary & Non-Discretionary) deliverables.

Projects:

Business Insurance (Commercial Lines) Maintenance team.

Unique Selling Points:

Dynamic environment with opportunities to learn multiple tools and scenarios on Legacy and Cloud assets. High-skilled team with significant impact on delivery and support. Interactions with Business and learning end-to-end data flow.

Training & Ramp-up:

Structured Knowledge Transfer plan specific to the role, applications, toolset, and Lines of Business.

Development Focus:

Back-end development primarily using Oracle and Snowflake.

Application Maintenance & Development:

Supporting current environments and working on new enhancements.

Testing:

Yes, including integration testing and supporting UAT.

Programming Languages:

Experience in JavaScript and Python is advantageous.

Role Environment & Technologies:

Fast-paced Agile/Kanban team focusing on data capabilities, legacy and cloud assets, leveraging AWS Cloud, Informatica, Snowflake, and Big Data technologies. Emphasis on design, development, and maintenance of large-scale data assets, with a focus on quality, speed, and innovation.

Role Expectations:

• Design and develop scalable software modules for analytics solutions.
• Prototype innovations using new technologies like AWS Cloud, Big Data, Snowflake, Informatica Cloud.
• Ensure data quality through integration with Data Quality Services.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and research for optimal solutions.
• Work within Scrum teams on design and implementation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years in Data Analysis, manipulation, and technical development.
• Experience with Data Engineer/ETL initiatives, ETL tools (Informatica, Talend), relational databases (Oracle, Snowflake), PL/SQL.
• Knowledge of current and emerging IT products, services, and methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving and innovative approach.
• Technical leadership skills.
• Experience with AWS services (S3, EMR) and cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift) is a plus.
• Experience with Gen AI solutions for data pipelines is preferred.
