Job description

Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring an experienced Data Architect with deep expertise in cloud and network engineering to identify architectural migration patterns, help overcome roadblocks with provisioning, schema creation, and data source connections.In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders to document current state networking, interfaces, and boundaries to drive decision making and expedite the migration process. This position is fully remote, located in the United States.

Please note: The contract has been awarded; however, this position remains unfunded and is contingent upon funding release.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of system conceptual designs and comprehensive documentation to ensure clarity, efficiency, and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Define and implement system-level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test protocols, fostering high-quality deliverables and stakeholder confidence.
  • Oversee system performance, proactively executing performance tuning strategies across cloud environments to maximize network efficiency and reliability.
  • Review and validate test plans and procedures, ensuring rigorous compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance documentation for network designs, policies, and operational procedures, supporting scalability and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify architectural migration patterns, mitigate dependencies, and resolve roadblocks, enabling seamless transitions and innovation.
  • Assess, analyze, and categorize workgroup attributes to strategically position them within the phased migration framework, optimizing operational alignment and resource allocation.
Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related field.
  • 12+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent professional expertise.
  • Must have Computing Environment (CE) certification (i.e., AWS, Microsoft, Linux, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of DOD Security, RMF, and/or NIST Policies.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, VPN).
  • Proficiency in automation tools and scripting (Python, Terraform, Ansible).
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with customers and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with virtual and/or cloud-based servers and applications.
  • Excellent technical documentation and reporting skills.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Conducts assessments of current and draft documents for regulatory compliance.

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
