Optomi, in partnership with one of our premier clients, is seeking a highly experienced and technically authoritative Senior Enterprise Cloud Architect to lead cloud solution design, platform engineering, and architectural governance across large-scale AWS and Azure environments. This role is ideal for a hands-on cloud architect with deep experience in multi-cloud platforms and a passion for designing scalable, secure, and production-ready infrastructure.

You will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and technical leader across a team of 10–15 cloud developers, guiding the architecture, implementation, and documentation of enterprise-grade cloud solutions.

Experience of the Right Candidate:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience in IT, with 8+ years in cloud architecture roles.
• Proven hands-on experience designing and implementing cloud infrastructure across both AWS and Azure (equal proficiency required).
• Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and cloud automation
• Platform engineering principles and CI/CD delivery
• Containerization and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)
• Networking, identity, and cloud security models
• Familiarity with AI infrastructure and use cases.
• Experience integrating DevOps and cloud architecture workflows.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and guide technical decisions.
• Experience preparing and delivering architectural documentation in structured, standards-compliant formats.

Responsibilities of the Right Candidate:

• Lead the end-to-end architecture and design of complex cloud-native applications and infrastructure, primarily across AWS and Azure (50/50 split).
• Collaborate with developers to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and well-documented technical solutions.
• Provide hands-on implementation leadership—this is a build-and-design role, not purely advisory.
• Establish architectural blueprints and reference models in compliance with internal governance.
• Act as the technical lead and SME for a global team of cloud developers.
• Mentor engineers on cloud architecture best practices, infrastructure as code (IaC), and automation tooling.
• Support continuous improvement of architecture processes and the team’s technical maturity.
• Deliver required architectural artifacts, ensuring compliance with enterprise standards, including security, automation, and engineering guidelines.
• Present proposed architectures to governing bodies (Architecture and Engineering Boards) for review and approval.
• Contribute to enterprise-wide reusable patterns, tech evaluations, and reference implementations in containerization, AI, automation, and cloud optimization.
• Support large-scale cloud operations spanning over 3,000 cloud accounts and 30,000+ machines.
• Guide and implement automation strategies using tools and languages such as Python and native AWS/Azure solutions.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering, Cloud Operations, Security, and Networking SMEs to ensure cohesive, efficient solutions.
• Support availability, reliability, and disaster recovery planning.
