Job summary

Millennium Bank in Chattanooga is seeking an experienced Credit Analyst to evaluate creditworthiness of consumer and commercial borrowers, and prepare underwriting packages for loan structures that balance growth with prudent risk management.

The role requires strong financial modeling, cash flow analysis, and loan documentation skills, with 4–7 years in commercial credit analysis. This is an on-site position at our Tennessee location, with full benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics; MBA/CFA a plus.
• 4–7 years of commercial credit analysis experience.
• Strong financial modeling and cash flow analysis skills.
• Experience underwriting CRE, C&I, or small business loans.
• Excellent written and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, collateral to evaluate borrowers.
• Prepare comprehensive credit memorandums with risk assessments and loan structure recommendations.
• Evaluate new credit requests, renewals, extensions, and modifications.
• Review and assign credit risk ratings based on financial performance and risk factors.
• Monitor the commercial loan portfolio through annual reviews and covenant compliance.

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Credit Analyst that will be responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of consumer/commercial borrowers, prepares underwriting packages, and recommends loan structures that balance growth with sound risk management.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyzes financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, collateral, and other financial information to evaluate borrowers' financial condition, repayment capacity, and overall creditworthiness.
• Prepares comprehensive credit memorandums, including financial analysis, risk assessments, loan structure, pricing, collateral, and covenant recommendations for loan approval.
• Evaluates new credit requests, renewals, extensions, and modifications to ensure appropriate loan structures and adherence to the Bank's lending standards.
• Reviews and recommend appropriate credit risk ratings based on borrowers' financial performance, repayment capacity, and identified risk factors.
• Monitors the commercial loan portfolio through annual reviews, financial statement analysis, covenant compliance, and identification of emerging credit weaknesses or deteriorating credit relationships.

Education, Qualifications, Training

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics. An MBA or CFA is a plus.
• 4-7 years of commercial credit analysis experience, ideally including formal credit training.
• Strong command of financial modeling, global cash flow analysis, and loan documentation.
• Clear writing, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Proficient in underwriting commercial real estate, C&I, or small business lending.
