Job Summary:
  • Assist in developing and implementing requirements for cost recording, reporting, and analyzing standards, programs, and reports.
  • Help prepare cost data for projects, proposals, and contract negotiations.
  • Manage scope changes effectively.
  • Define scope requirements for disciplines or specialties and coordinate with Engineering and other teams to produce necessary data for estimate preparation.
  • Develop quantity takeoffs using defined documents or assumptions, and verify quantities provided by others.
  • Apply unit rates (cost and hours) to quantity takeoffs and other developed quantities within a discipline.
  • Prepare specific budgets following prescribed standards and procedures.
  • Coordinate and prepare cost reports.
  • Collect, classify, and analyze cost engineering data.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Project Manager or Supervisor.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen.
  • Knowledge of capital and service costs.
  • Understanding of scope change management.
  • Intermediate knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup processes.
  • Proficiency with discipline-specific software applications.
  • Skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving cost problems innovatively.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting systems, controller account codes, and project controls documentation.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field, with 7-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in basic software applications like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Cost engineering or project management certification preferred; if not current, eligible to attain within one year.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to Wiesbaden, Germany.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:
  • Work is primarily in a remote, office environment.
  • Prolonged sitting and standing.
  • Possible walking and climbing on construction sites.
  • Occasional travel to Wiesbaden, Germany.
