Job description

Job Summary:
  • Assist in developing and implementing requirements for cost recording, reporting, and analyzing standards, programs, and reports.
  • Prepare cost data for projects, proposals, and contract negotiations.
  • Manage scope changes effectively.
  • Define scope requirements for a discipline or specialty, coordinating with Engineering and other teams to produce necessary data for estimate preparation.
  • Create quantity takeoffs for disciplines or specialties, verifying provided quantities.
  • Develop and apply unit rates to quantity takeoffs and other developed quantities within a discipline or specialty.
  • Prepare specific budgets following prescribed standards and procedures.
  • Coordinate and prepare cost reports.
  • Collect, classify, and analyze cost engineering data.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the Project Manager or Supervisor.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen.
  • Have knowledge of capital and service costs.
  • Understand scope change management.
  • Possess intermediate knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup processes.
  • Be proficient in using multiple discipline-specific software applications.
  • Demonstrate ability to identify, analyze, and provide solutions to cost issues.
  • Have knowledge of financial reporting systems, controller account codes, and project control instructions, including Project Financial Status Reports and Earned Revenue Data.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, with 7-10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Be skilled in computer applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Have strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Cost engineering or project management certification is preferred; if not certified, eligibility to attain certification within one year is required.
  • Be willing and able to travel occasionally to Wiesbaden, Germany.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:
  • Work is primarily in a remote, office environment.
  • Sitting and standing for extended periods are involved.
  • May involve walking and climbing on construction sites.
  • Occasional travel to Wiesbaden, Germany.
