Ready to take your cooking game to the next level? As a Senior Cook, you’ll prepare high-quality meals for patients, staff, and special events, while leading and supporting other cooks to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Your leadership helps us deliver nourishment with care and consistency, whether crafting meals from recipes, coordinating prep, or supporting special functions.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Prepare meals based on menus, production sheets, and recipes for patients, cafeteria patrons, medical staff, and events.
• Supervise, mentor, and guide kitchen staff to ensure quality and timeliness.
• Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation.
• Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary environment following food safety guidelines.
• Problem-solve and maintain production flow during peak times.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED (required for hires on or after May 1, 2006).
• Current Food Handler’s Permit from Kansas City, MO, Independence, Jackson County, or Clay County, or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• At least two years of experience preparing large quantities of food using recipes.
• Strong leadership skills to support a high-volume team.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical stamina to bend, twist, push, and lift large containers of hot food.
