Compensation

The compensation target range for this role is: $80,800 - $95,000

Job Summary

The Senior Controls Engineer will be responsible for virtually all the technical work with respect to automation projects and services provided to the Operations team. The role offers various responsibilities and career paths.

Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage Electrical Contractors to maintain facility electrical systems.
• Guide the installation and hookup of manufacturing equipment, considering motor sizes, voltage, and power distribution.
• Advise on troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment breakdowns.
• Proficiency in diagnosing problems, performing electrical tests, disassembling equipment, replacing parts, and testing.
• Design control panels to UL standards.
• Proficiency with VFD programming and troubleshooting.
• Direct after-hours call-outs to controls team members for machinery repair.
• Work closely with Mechanical Engineering to modify production machinery.
• Knowledge of load sizing and breaker sizing for machinery.
• Experience with PLC Ladder Logic and Function Block programming, specifically GE, Allen Bradley, and Siemens PLCs.
• Ability to draw electrical circuits and diagrams for various equipment and systems.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis for electrical failures.
• Design network systems including Profinet and safety networks.
• Experience in designing safety systems and programming, with knowledge of Keyence and Banner safety controllers a plus.

Required Skills, Education, Experience

• Associate Degree in Automation/Electrical or related field.
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with injection molding is a plus.
• Proficient in Motor Control Theory.
• Ability to read and modify electrical drawings.

Physical Requirements

Activities may include standing, sitting, moving objects up to 15 pounds, communicating, repetitive motions, and assessing work accuracy.

Environmental Conditions

Occasional exposure to noisy office and production environments.
