Ocean Spray is hiring for a(n) Sr. Controls and Automation Support Technician! We’re a team of farmers, thinkers, creators, and doers. The Senior Controls & Automation Support Technician will be responsible for supporting automation systems for manufacturing operations. You will maintain control systems by providing frontline support to the manufacturing facility and equipment. Additionally, you will support all Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) processes.

A Day in the Life...

  • Provides engineering and controls support to all process areas, plant facilities, and operations.
  • Assist in evaluating and selecting automation hardware and software necessary to meet current and future manufacturing requirements.
  • Provide input to engineers managing the controls and automation systems testing, quality control, data retrieval and training for all packaging and processing equipment.
  • Assist with assessing the effectiveness and reliability of new and existing automation systems.
  • Develop and maintain control system documentation and documentation change control procedures.
  • Proactively identifying opportunities for system enhancements, energy savings, and operational improvements.
  • Configuring and integrating control devices, sensors, actuators, and other components into the overall system design.
  • Support and promote FSQA program initiatives within the plant environment.
  • Perform duties assigned by and under the supervision of a project manager or engineer.

What We Are Looking For:

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical, electrical, and control systems including in the following areas:

  • Configure and program Allen-Bradley variable frequency drives or equivalent.
  • Troubleshoot/maintain controls system with Ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNet and Remote I/O network architectures.
  • Modify and program iFIX and SCADA platforms or equivalent.
  • Program, maintain and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PanelView/Plus operator interface hardware.
  • Perform PID loop tuning and implement instrument calibration procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain PLC-5, SLC-500, MicroLogix, CompactLogix and ControlLogix hardware.
  • Perform programming using RSLogix5, 500 and 5000 software or equivalent.

• Install, troubleshoot and maintain transmitters and sensors.

• Audit, maintain and update electrical documentation.

• Read electrical schematics, process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and process flow diagrams (PFDs).

• Strong computer skills (MS Office, AutoCAD).

• Food and beverage or pharmaceutical experience a plus.

Education:

Bachelor's or University Degree (Preferred)
