Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Information Systems Engineer to support the design, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing information and automation systems. This role will be responsible for integrating production equipment with enterprise data platforms, driving automation initiatives, improving system performance, and supporting global manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SCADA, industrial automation, manufacturing systems integration, and data management.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, document, and maintain SCADA systems that support both automated equipment and manual manufacturing processes.
- Integrate manufacturing equipment with MES platforms and enterprise information systems to improve data visibility and operational efficiency.
- Provide technical expertise in manufacturing data systems, ensuring system reliability, cybersecurity compliance, and data integrity.
- Collaborate with automation vendors to develop interface requirements and system integration specifications.
- Gather feedback from manufacturing stakeholders and incorporate user needs into system enhancements and future designs.
- Partner with Process Engineering teams to collect, organize, and deliver critical process data to historian platforms and reporting systems.
- Support automation, process improvement, and cost reduction initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites.
- Execute projects independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.
Travel
- Up to 50% travel required.
- Travel may include domestic and international manufacturing facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in:
- SCADA development and support (Ignition, GE iFIX, or similar platforms)
- PLC programming and controls integration
- Software development using Python, Java, SQL, or similar languages
- At least 3 years of experience integrating manufacturing equipment with Information Management Systems (IMS).
- Experience with industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, MQTT, or equivalent technologies.
- Ability to travel internationally when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced expertise with Inductive Automation Ignition, including Perspective, Vision, and scripting modules.
- Ignition Gold Certification or equivalent advanced certification.
- Experience with AVEVA PI System technologies, including Asset Framework, Event Frames, and PI Vision.
- Hands-on experience with Siemens, Omron, and Allen-Bradley PLC platforms.
- Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
