Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a SCADA Developer to join a growing manufacturing technology team supporting critical plant operations across North America.

You will design, develop, and support SCADA applications used in manufacturing environments, with preferred Ignition experience and exposure to other platforms such as FactoryTalk, WinCC, iFIX, or similar systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required or 2+ years of experience with 4+ years of experience without a degree
  • Experience with at least one SCADA platform such as Ignition, FactoryTalk, WinCC, iFIX, or similar systems
  • Strong Python development or scripting and SQL/database experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot and collaborate with technical and operations teams

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and support SCADA applications used across manufacturing facilities
  • Build new applications and enhancements to existing SCADA solutions
  • Develop and maintain system integrations, dashboards, and reporting tools
  • Utilize Python and SQL to support application functionality and data management
  • Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and IT teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions
  • Troubleshoot application issues and provide ongoing production support
  • Participate in capital projects and plant modernization implementations
  • Provide occasional after-hours support when needed

Job description

Insight Global is seeking a SCADA Developer to join a growing manufacturing technology team supporting critical plant operations across North America. This individual will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting SCADA applications used in manufacturing environments.

While Ignition experience is preferred, candidates with experience on other SCADA platforms such as FactoryTalk, Wonderware/AVEVA, WinCC, iFIX, or similar systems are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and support SCADA applications used across manufacturing facilities
  • Build new applications and enhancements to existing SCADA solutions
  • Develop and maintain system integrations, dashboards, and operational reporting tools
  • Utilize Python and SQL to support application functionality and data management
  • Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and IT teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions
  • Troubleshoot application issues and provide ongoing support for production systems
  • Participate in implementations supporting capital projects and plant modernization initiatives
  • Provide occasional after-hours support when needed
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field plus 2+ years of experience, OR 4+ years of relevant experience without a degree
  • Experience with at least one SCADA platform:
  • Ignition
  • FactoryTalk
  • WinCC
  • iFIX
  • Similar SCADA technologies
  • Experience with Python development or scripting
  • Experience working with SQL and relational databases
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical and operational stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ignition 8.1 and/or Ignition Perspective experience
  • Manufacturing, industrial automation, or plant-floor systems experience
  • Controls, OT, or process automation experience
  • Experience with MQTT
  • Familiarity with reporting and visualization tools such as Tableau, Seeq, or Grafana
  • Experience with Java, C++, C#, or .NET technologies
