Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated is seeking a Sr. Contract Specialist in Secaucus, NJ to coordinate contract preparation and execution across the Centers of Excellence.

You will work with Salesforce.com, Apttus and DocuSign to standardize high‑volume contracting for Health Plans, physician groups, labs and similar entities. The role requires 7+ years in a lab setting with contract experience, 4+ years in system‑driven contracting, and 5+ years using CRM/CLM tools.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in the Lab industry with understanding of lab‑based functional departments.
  • 4+ years supporting a system‑driven contracting process/function.
  • 5+ years in CRM/CLM software, especially Salesforce.com and Apttus/Conga cloud‑based software.

Responsibilities

  • Process and manage contract requests through approval, drafting, negotiation, execution and post‑execution notification.
  • Oversee complex agreements requiring additional support due to strategic engagement.
  • Review contract terms for RFPs with the RFP Response Team.
  • Develop and implement strategy and criteria for systems used by Commercial Contracting.
  • Assist with systems administration within contracting‑related systems.
  • Support Training for internal customers and business partners on processes.
  • Assist with administration of the Quality Control process.
  • Create and distribute reporting on Commercial Contracting activity.
  • Participate in audits and provide deliverables for contract system compliance.
  • Create and update SOPs and playbooks to align with Centers of Excellence objectives.
  • Work cross‑functionally with Commercial Leadership, Legal, Regions and labs to drive excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Sr. Contract Specialist – Secaucus, NJ

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Coordinate all contract preparation activities related to the Contract Administration Centers of Excellence component of the contracting process from opportunity identification through contract execution and reporting, utilizing Salesforce.com, Apttus, and DocuSign web-based applications to assist with those efforts. Drive system and process compliance, controls and standardization for high-volume and high-risk customers including Health Plans, Integrated/Independent Physician Associations, Nationwide Accounts, Health Systems, Accountable Care Organizations, and other laboratories, managing profitable and meaningful changes in the company. Manage system development activities for applications that support the contracting process. Work cross‑functionally with Legal, Finance, Commercial Technology, Clinical Franchises, and regional commercial representatives to develop, implement and drive contract administration compliance and standardization.

Pay range: Minimum $95,000 – Maximum $115,000

Responsibilities
  • Process and manage contract requests through the approval process, agreement drafting and negotiation, and follow‑through to agreement execution and post‑execution notification.
  • Oversee complex and/or nuanced agreements requiring additional support and oversight due to complexities or strategic engagement.
  • Complete contract terms and conditions reviews for request for proposals (RFPs) in partnership with the RFP Response Team.
  • Develop and implement strategy, process improvements, and criteria for system applications utilized within the Commercial Contracting Team.
  • Assist with system administration activities within contracting‑related systems and other partnered applications.
  • Support and assist the Contract Extended Support Team’s inquiries and training.
  • Assist with administration of the Quality Control (QC) process.
  • Partner with Sr. Manager Commercial Contracting to facilitate and host training for internal customers and business partners on the Commercial Contracting processes and procedures.
  • Create and distribute reporting to internal stakeholders regarding Commercial Contracting activity or ad‑hoc reports as assigned.
  • Participate in scheduled audits and provide requested deliverables that support contract system and process compliance in accordance with company standards.
  • Create and update SOPs and playbooks to ensure that processes align with the Centers of Excellence key business objectives.
  • Work cross‑functionally with Commercial Leadership, Legal, Franchises, Regions, Esoteric laboratories, and other internal resources to drive Commercial Contracting Centers of Excellence.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education:
    • College graduate – preferred
    • High School Diploma or Equivalent – required
  • Experience:
    • 7+ years experience in the Lab industry and comprehensive understanding of functional departments within a laboratory‑based organization (Commercial/Sales, Legal, Compliance, Billing, Lab Operations, Pricing/Finance, Account Setup and Patient Services).
    • 4+ years experience managing or supporting a system‑driven contracting process/function.
    • 5+ years experience in Customer Relationship Management and Contract Lifecycle Management software/applications, particularly Salesforce.com and Apttus/Conga cloud‑based software.
  • Other:
    • Lab industry knowledge, specifically around ancillary provider contracting.
