Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and 5 years of government contracting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong understanding of federal government contracting principles and contract lifecycle management.
• Ability to analyze complex requirements, identify risks, and develop practical business solutions.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support federal government contracting activities throughout the contract lifecycle, including solicitations, contract awards, modifications, reporting, and closeout.
• Review and interpret solicitation and contract requirements, providing guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Sales, Commercial Operations, Legal, Pricing, and other partners to support compliant and timely contract execution.
• Identify potential contractual, operational, and compliance risks and support resolution efforts.
• Monitor contractual obligations and maintain accurate contract documentation and records.
• Assist with audit requests, reporting requirements, and customer inquiries.
• Analyze contract data and trends to support decision-making and operational improvements.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and leverage automation, AI, and digital tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Job Description

As a Contract Consultant, Government, you will serve as a senior federal contracting subject matter expert supporting activities across the government contracting lifecycle, including opportunity assessment, proposal development, contract administration, award implementation, and contract closeout. In this role, you will collaborate with internal partners and Federal customers to provide practical guidance that supports compliant growth and successful contract execution.

This role requires strong problem-solving skills, sound business judgment, and the ability to identify potential contractual and operational risks while helping stakeholders develop practical solutions. The Contract Consultant will leverage federal contracting expertise, business insights, and emerging technologies to improve processes, enhance operational effectiveness, and support continuous improvement across the federal contracting function.

• Support federal government contracting activities throughout the contract lifecycle, including solicitations, contract awards, modifications, reporting, and closeout.
• Review and interpret solicitation and contract requirements, providing guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Sales, Commercial Operations, Legal, Pricing, and other partners to support compliant and timely contract execution.
• Identify potential contractual, operational, and compliance risks and support resolution efforts.
• Monitor contractual obligations and maintain accurate contract documentation and records.
• Assist with audit requests, reporting requirements, and customer inquiries.
• Analyze contract data and trends to support decision-making and operational improvements.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and leverage automation, artificial intelligence, and digital tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Promote best practices and support continuous improvement initiatives across the contracting organization.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree required and 5 years of experience in government contracting, contract management, or a related business function; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong understanding of federal government contracting principles and contract lifecycle management.
• Ability to analyze complex requirements, identify risks, and develop practical business solutions.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across a matrix organization and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
• Experience working with contract management systems, CRM platforms, Microsoft Excel, and related business applications.
• Ability to travel up to 20%

Preferred

• Experience with federal contract vehicles including FSS, GSA, DAPA, BPA, or IDIQ contracts.
• Experience supporting federal solicitations and proposal development activities.
• Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, VAAR, and related federal acquisition regulations.
• Experience using Power BI, Salesforce, CLM platforms, or other reporting and analytics tools.
• Experience implementing process improvements, automation solutions, or AI-enabled business tools.
• Advanced Excel and analytical skills.
