Job Description

The Amazon Continuous Improvement Leader will lead continuous improvement activities across the Global Procurement Organization (GPO) while reporting to the Global Supplier Management team. This role aims to make Amazon a world-class leader in Supplier Quality Management by developing and implementing continuous improvement programs, including Lean Six Sigma methodologies, defect capture systems, supplier feedback tools, and root cause analysis techniques. The leader will also oversee the rollout of new programs and processes.

This role involves collaboration with internal and external teams, building relationships across GPO pillars, tech, and support teams. Success requires strong analytical skills, a data-driven mindset, and excellent communication abilities. The ideal candidate is a proven leader capable of thriving in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, with the ability to present data-driven business reviews to senior management.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Drive improvements across GPO and Operations to enhance customer satisfaction, reduce costs, and improve process workflows, systems, and performance metrics.
  2. Lead medium to large, cross-functional strategic projects.
  3. Prioritize projects, set stakeholder expectations, and develop detailed functional specifications and business cases.
  4. Apply rigorous problem-solving approaches and interpret large data sets.
  5. Manage project schedules from design to release, pilot new solutions, and roll out across the organization.
  6. Build credible relationships with internal teams and external partners.
  7. Demonstrate strong project and operations management skills, with ownership of project parts.
  8. Provide technical and operational guidance to teams and field personnel.
  9. Travel up to 25% as needed.
About the Team

The Global Supplier Management team focuses on quality assurance, supplier qualifications, operational excellence, and new product qualifications, aiming to ensure supply continuity, sustainability, and strong supplier relationships.

Qualifications

Basic:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of Amazon experience
  • 7+ years management experience in manufacturing, production, or distribution
  • Cross-functional project management experience
  • Experience with Kaizens and LEAN tools
  • Fluent English

Preferred:

  • Six Sigma and Lean certifications
  • Experience mentoring in Lean or Six Sigma
  • Ability to influence without authority
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and develop innovative solutions
