This position will be fully remote and can be hired anywhere in the US.
Our consultants are skilled technical and consultative resources expected to have strong technical and soft skills. A Consultant must be able to problem-solve, communicate effectively, participate in diverse project teams from a technical perspective, and interface with customers, vendor partners, and colleagues. Establish & maintain productive and respectful relationships with the delivery team, practice management, and client management team. We are seeking specialists with recent experience in Security Service Edge (SSE) technologies, including Netskope and/or Zscaler.
How You Will Make An Impact
- Contribute to improving operational efficiency on projects and internal initiatives. Deliver timely engagements and collaborate with Practice leaders on training, education, career development, and team collaboration.
- Ensure work quality aligns with Optiv’s standards by reviewing work from team members.
- Deliver solo or act as a point of contact for complex technology implementation projects.
- Serve as a technical escalation point to support other consultants.
- Lead capacity planning and hardware specification efforts.
- Lead technology deployment activities, including connector configuration, custom rule development, workflow setup, and third-party system integration.
- Understand customer requirements and deliverables, and create comprehensive Statements of Work (SOW).
- Assist customers with technical requirements, SSE solution evaluation, and architecture & design development.
- Understand system integration with SSO/IAM, EDR, SIEM, SOAR, MDM.
- Create evaluation test plans and implement DLP solutions.
- Work closely with customers and their technical teams.
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing and address bugs.
- Design, implement, and educate on technology build processes, policy migration, and third-party integration.
- Provide knowledge transfer and post-production support as needed.
- Maintain effective communication within the team.
- Stay updated with professional knowledge through workshops, publications, networking, and participation in professional associations like CSA.
- Obtain and maintain top-tier vendor certifications (e.g., Netskope Certified Cloud Security Administrator, Zscaler ZIA Professional, etc.).
- Complete administrative tasks such as time and expense reporting, status updates, and project completion reports.
- Contribute to Optiv communities for solutions of focus.
Qualifications For Success
Core Expertise & Experience
- Recent hands-on experience with SSE platforms, specifically Netskope and/or Zscaler, as a technical SME.
- 5-7 years of experience in IT security, networking, or systems engineering.
- 4-7 years focused on technical architecture design and implementation within cybersecurity or related fields.
- Minimum 2 years in a Professional Services Consultant role, capable of presenting complex technical info to diverse audiences.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Proficient with security technologies such as CASB, SWG, NGFW, IPsec/GRE, Reverse Proxies, SSO/SAML, DLP, ZTNA.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and experience with Windows, macOS/iOS, UNIX/Linux systems, and Active Directory/LDAP.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), identity provisioning, CSPM, and API security.
- Familiarity with MDM solutions like JAMF and Microsoft Intune.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Bash, or Java.
Security Principles, Compliance & Frameworks
- Solid understanding of security principles, vulnerability assessments, data classification, incident response, and security governance.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements like PCI DSS, GDPR, CCPA, etc.
- Experience with security or enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., SABSA, TOGAF) is a plus.
Certifications
- Required: Relevant certifications such as CCSK, CCSP, or CISSP.
- Highly Preferred: Netskope-specific certifications (e.g., NCCSAr, NSCI&I, NSK series).

- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
- Availability to work standard US business hours across time zones.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
