This position will be fully remote and can be hired anywhere in the US.
Our consultants are skilled technical and consultative resources expected to be strong in both technical and soft skills. A Consultant must have the ability to problem-solve, communicate, participate in diverse project teams from a technical perspective, and interface effectively with customers, vendor partners, and colleagues. Establish & maintain productive and respectful relationships with the delivery team, practice management, and client management team. For this position, we are seeking specialists with recent experience in Security Service Edge (SSE) technologies, including Netskope and/or Zscaler.
How You Will Make An Impact
- You will actively contribute to improving operational efficiency on projects and internal initiatives. Deliver timely engagements and work closely with Practice leaders to drive training, education, career development, performance, and collaboration across the team.
- In line with Optiv’s commitment to quality, you will review work to ensure it meets Optiv’s quality standards.
- Able to deliver independently or serve as the "point" for complex technology implementation projects.
- Act as a technical escalation point to assist other consultants.
- Lead capacity planning and hardware specification efforts.
- Lead all technology deployment activities, including connector configuration, custom rule development, workflow setup, and third-party system integration.
- Understand customer requirements and deliverables, and create comprehensive Statements of Work (SOW).
- Assist customers in developing technical requirements, evaluating SSE solutions, and designing architecture.
- Understand system integration with SSO/IAM, EDR, SIEM, SOAR, and MDM.
- Create evaluation test plans and implement DLP solutions.
- Work closely with customers and their technical teams.
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing and address bugs.
- Design, implement, and educate on technology build processes, policy migration, and third-party integrations.
- Provide knowledge transfer and post-production support as needed.
- Maintain effective communication within the team.
- Keep professional and technical knowledge current through educational workshops, publications, networking, and participation in professional associations such as CSA.
- Obtain and maintain top-tier vendor certifications (e.g., Netskope and Zscaler certifications).
- Complete administrative tasks like time and expense reporting, status updates, and project completion reports.
- Contribute to Optiv communities for solutions of focus.
Qualifications For Success
Core Expertise & Experience
- SSE Subject Matter Expert: Recent hands-on experience with SSE platforms, specifically Netskope and/or Zscaler.
- Overall Technical Experience: 5-7 years in IT security, networking, or systems engineering.
- Architecture Experience: 4-7 years in cybersecurity architecture design and implementation.
- Consulting Experience: At least 2 years in a Professional Services role, capable of presenting complex technical information to diverse audiences.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Security Technologies: Proficient with CASB, SWG, NGFW, IPsec/GRE, Reverse Proxies, SSO/SAML, DLP, and ZTNA.
- Networking & Operating Systems: Strong fundamentals in TCP/IP, OSI model, with experience in Windows, macOS/iOS, UNIX/Linux. Active Directory/LDAP experience is a plus.
- Cloud & Identity: Knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP, identity provisioning (SCIM, Azure AD, Okta), CSPM, and API Security.
- Endpoint & Mobile: Familiarity with MDM solutions like JAMF and Microsoft Intune.
- Scripting: Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python, Perl, Bash, or Java.
Security Principles, Compliance & Frameworks
- Security Fundamentals: Understanding of vulnerabilities, data classification, privacy, incident response, security policies, and governance.
- Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of PCI DSS, GLBA, GDPR, CCPA, and state laws.
- Architecture Frameworks: Experience with SABSA, TOGAF, or O-ESA is a plus.
Certifications
- Required: Relevant certifications such as CCSK, CCSP, or CISSP.
- Preferred: Netskope-specific certifications (e.g., NCCSAr, NSCI, NSK series).
