Job description

Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking Qualified Construction Inspectors to join our Construction Engineering & Inspection group in Florida.

Responsibilities
  1. To perform quality control construction observations for roadway and bridge construction, general site work, maintenance and protection of traffic, drainage, earthwork, paving, concrete work, reinforcement steel placement, utility relocation work, coordination, and safety.
  2. Able to read contract documents and construction plans.
  3. Responsible for construction observation monitoring/tracking of construction sequencing, cost, and performance decisions.
  4. Assure that proper document control, quality assurance and project records are kept.
  5. Assure quality and uniformity in the record keeping of various contracts.
Qualifications
  1. Minimum 5 years FDOT related experience, including roadway (earthwork, sub base, concrete and asphalt pavement, drainage, lighting, guardrails and pavement markings, signs, maintenance of traffic related inspections for day or nighttime operations).
  2. Bridge construction inspection experience (rehabilitation & new) a plus.
  3. Valid Driver’s license.
  4. CTQP Certification preferred.
  5. Strong PC Skills, in Microsoft Office.
  6. Strong time management and attention to detail.
  7. Excellent organizational skills.
  8. Knowledge of FDOT road specifications.
  9. Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
