City of Jonesboro is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to perform on‑site inspections of public and private development projects to ensure compliance with city standards for streets, sidewalks, bridges and drainage systems. The role is safety‑sensitive and involves driving a City vehicle.
You will maintain logs, prepare inspection reports, collect data, and respond to public requests while adhering to city policies.

The purpose of this safety‑sensitive (SS) position is to inspect construction projects to help ensure that public improvements and construction comply with local ordinances and standards.

Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person‑to‑person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature.
