  • 8+ years of experience in compensation analysis, HR analytics, or total rewards.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation regulations, benchmarking and survey tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with HRIS systems (UKG preferred) and data visualization tools.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive data with discretion and integrity.
  • Certification such as CCP or SHRM certification required, or actively in progress.

Responsibilities

  • Lead compensation benchmarking and market analysis using surveys and databases to keep the firm competitive.
  • Analyze and design salary, bonus, and compensation structures for attorneys and staff.
  • Lead annual compensation review cycles from analysis through implementation.
  • Ensure programs are internally equitable and externally competitive.
  • Lead job evaluations and leveling across departments and develop leveling frameworks.
  • Partner with HR leadership and practice group leaders on recommendations and present findings to senior stakeholders.
  • Lead pay equity audits and monitor compliance with pay transparency regulations.
  • Mentor and review junior compensation analysts.
  • Manage relationships with survey vendors and consultants.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive compensation data.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Compensation.

Job description

Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sr. Compensation Analyst to join the firm’s Human Resources department in our Greenville, South Carolina office. The Senior Compensation Analyst leads the design, analysis, and administration of compensation programs for attorneys and business professionals within the firm. This role operates with greater independence on complex compensation matters, mentors junior analysts, and partners with HR leadership to shape compensation practices that remain competitive, equitable, and aligned with the firm’s strategic goals, while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies.

Essential Functions
  • Lead compensation benchmarking and market analysis using legal industry surveys and compensation databases, and recommend adjustments to keep the firm competitive.
  • Analyze and design salary, bonus, and compensation structures for associates, shareholders, and business services staff.
  • Lead annual compensation review cycles, including merit increases and bonus planning, from analysis through implementation.
  • Ensure compensation programs are internally equitable and externally competitive.
  • Lead job evaluations and role leveling across departments, including development and maintenance of leveling frameworks.
  • Partner with HR leadership and practice group leaders on compensation recommendations, presenting findings and analysis to senior stakeholders.
  • Lead pay equity audits and monitor compliance with pay transparency and pay equity regulations, recommending corrective action where needed.
  • Mentor and review the work of junior compensation analysts.
  • Manage relationships with compensation survey vendors and consultants.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive compensation data.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Compensation.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, finance, or related field;
  • 8+ years of experience in compensation analysis, HR analytics, or total rewards.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation regulations, benchmarking and survey tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with HRIS systems (UKG preferred) and data visualization tools.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive data with discretion and integrity.
  • Demonstrated experience leadingcross-functional projects and mentoring junior staff.
  • Strong background inanalytical strategies, training and change management.
  • Certification such as Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or SHRM certification required, or actively in progress.
