Job description

This is a unique opportunity to solve meaningful and complex cloud platform challenges with the support of a highly collaborative and skilled engineering team (inclusive of software, ML, embedded, and hardware engineers), enabling you to see your work make a visible difference. Our client is an established, medium-sized, globally operating industrial technology company that’s in an exciting stage of growth. As Sr. Cloud Platform Engineer within their Engineering team, you will lead and influence key platform decisions, take ownership of outcomes, and build what comes next. This role is built for an AI-enabled cloud platform engineer who brings strong judgment, curiosity, and accountability to projects that matter.

As Sr. Cloud Platform Engineer, you will own the platform supporting our client’s proven product and meaningful customer base. The next stage of organizational growth will include architecting and modernizing the cloud environment, reducing unnecessary complexity, building a stronger foundation for scale, security, reliability, and continued innovation. You will help architect and build the infrastructure of a platform that processes significant volumes of machine-generated data from connected sensors. Using your experience across AWS/Azure, Infrastructure as Code, serverless and containerized systems, observability, security, and event-driven architecture, you’ll define firsthand how data is ingested, processed, stored, and delivered.

If you are energized by environments where high autonomy meets high collaboration, seeing your work come to life, relying on your technical instincts and judgment, and building alongside a curious and low-ego team, we’d love to speak with you about career growth and job opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build, deploy, and support scalable cloud infrastructure with AWS as the primary platform.
  • Design and manage dependable web services, APIs, and data-ingestion pipelines.
  • Drive the adoption and standardization of Infrastructure as Code through Terraform and related technologies.
  • Create and improve queue-based, event-driven architectures that support distributed processing and large telemetry volumes.
  • Build secure, scalable solutions using containerized and serverless approaches when they are the right fit.
  • Define and promote infrastructure standards across observability, security, cost management, disaster recovery, deployment automation, and reliability
  • Contribute to compliance efforts involving GDPR and SOC 2 requirements.
  • Develop and maintain secure approaches to networking, secrets management, and identity and access management.
  • Partner with product, AI, backend, and firmware engineering teams to improve platform scale and operational performance.
  • Assess database options and recommend the appropriate technology based on workload needs and technical tradeoffs.
  • Strengthen continuous integration, continuous delivery, and broader engineering workflows.
  • Assist with production incident response, operational diagnosis, and technical troubleshooting.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional experience across software engineering and infrastructure
  • Extensive hands-on experience managing large-scale production workloads within AWS.
  • Demonstrated ability to architect, design, implement, and support cloud-native infrastructure.
  • Substantial experience building Infrastructure as Code solutions with Terraform, Pulumi, or similar.
  • Deep knowledge of event-driven design, distributed systems, and asynchronous processing.
  • Experience developing and supporting data-ingestion systems that use serverless technologies, streams, and queues.
  • Strong command of API design, TLS, DNS, IAM, networking, and cloud security.
  • Experience working within SOC 2-compliant environments, along with an understanding of GDPR obligations.
  • Proven experience supporting, operating, and diagnosing production web applications and APIs.
  • Strong knowledge of database architectures and their tradeoffs, including object storage platforms, relational databases, time-series databases, caching technologies, etc.
  • Strong understanding of operational tooling, logging, monitoring, and observability practices.
  • Experience building systems designed for resilience, fault tolerance, and continued availability.
  • Highly effective communication skills with the ability to provide technical leadership.
What Naturally Makes You a Good Fit:
  • You are a genuine and cool human being and care about the culture of where you work.
  • You naturally take ownership and don’t need for every step to be defined.
  • You are naturally curious and want to understand the full system, product, and customer impact.
  • You bring strong opinions without needing to control or win every decision.
  • You enjoy turning complexity and ambiguity into practical, manageable solutions.
  • You collaborate openly, listen well, and adjust when better evidence emerges.
  • You move with urgency while still validating the quality of your work.
  • You are energized by visible progress, continuous learning, and building something better than you found it.
Benefits of working with the team:

As a valued member of the team, you will receive a competitive compensation package, including a generous base salary and bonus eligibility. Additional benefits include: Medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) plan, life insurance, catered lunches, paid time off, company-sponsored benefits, etc.
