About the Role

• Maintain relationships and monitor performance of IT vendors contracted for outsourced services.
• Analyze actuals versus budget/forecast for public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and identify areas of waste, optimization, and utilization.
• Extract and analyze large‑scale data within cloud billing and usage to support senior engineering and financial partners in decision making.
• Describe and implement price optimization initiatives with public cloud vendors, including Reserved Instances (RIs) and Monthly Savings Plans.
• Identify, implement, and maintain AWS key performance indicators.
• Extract and analyze sophisticated datasets using optimized SQL queries, Python, and R.
• Configure analytics platforms Looker and Lightdash to create dashboards and reports for business insights.
• Monitor service level objectives by building Grafana dashboards to track metrics such as service status.
• Create alerts for significant changes in key metrics so teams can address anomalies promptly.

Salary Range: $161,300 - $241,900

About You

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Completed a university‑level course, research project, internship, or thesis in public cloud (GCP BigQuery) data analysis.
• Completed a university‑level course, research project, internship, or thesis in cloud data machine‑learning modeling.
• Completed a university‑level course, research project, internship, or thesis in cloud data visualization using Python and SQL.
• Completed a university‑level course, research project, internship, or thesis in extracting and processing large‑scale datasets using SQL queries and Python.
• Completed a university‑level course, research project, internship, or thesis in configuring analytics platforms comparable to Looker to build dashboards and create reports.

Pay Transparency

Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role‑specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other factors.
