Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Sr. Cloud Automation Engineer to design and automate public cloud environments (Azure and AWS) and to integrate AI automation workflows. The role involves infrastructure as code, tooling like Terraform/Ansible, and collaboration across storage, network, and database domains.

Ideal candidates bring 4+ years in cloud, Windows/Linux expertise, strong documentation and communication, and the ability to train end users while traveling up to 10% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 4+ years of public cloud experience (Azure and AWS).
• Proficient with IaC tools such as Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation, Ansible, Python, PowerShell.
• Cross-functional IT experience (storage, network, database).
• Strong Windows and Linux server experience.
• Experience with AI-assisted tooling to streamline cloud operations.
• Familiar with public cloud networking (Azure VNet, AWS VPC, etc).

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Sr. Cloud Automation Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to work on designing and automating the configuration of public cloud environments such as Azure and AWS and also incorporating AI automation workflows.

• Develop Infrastructure as Code to build and maintain public cloud environments.

• Provides technical guidance and end user training.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of experience and knowledge of public cloud (Azure and AWS)
• Ability to automate with Infrastructure as Code using a variety of technology types (ARM, CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, Python, PowerShell)
• Cross-functional IT expertise (storage, network and database infrastructure)
• Strong experience with both Windows and Linux servers
• Experience leveraging automation platforms and AI‑assisted tooling (Terraform, Ansible, GitHub Actions, AIOps/ML‑driven monitoring tools) to streamline cloud operations and reduce manual effort.
• Experience with knowledge of public cloud networking architecture used with Azure (vNet, load balancers, Virtual WAN, VPN, Express Route) and AWS (VPC, load balancers, transit gateway, VPN, Direct Connect)
• Experience with knowledge of public cloud identity and access management methods
• Excellent documentation, intercommunication, and interpersonal skills
• Advanced organizational and time management skills

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Good Understanding and implementation of ITIL concepts
• Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, etc.)
• Artifact binary repository management
• Extensive scripting experience (Bash, Ansible, Python, Groovy, Powershell, etc.)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Knowledge of configuration file types (YAML, JSON)
• Experience with AI assisted tooling
• Familiar with DevOps practices
• Have a strong sense of networking in public cloud

Salary Range: $103,500.00 - $181,100.00
