Job Description

The Chemical Process Operator is based out of G2O's La Porte production facility, located at 9401 Strang Road, La Porte, TX 77571. The individual in this position will work a Monday-Friday schedule and is also expected to work overtime shifts on an as-needed basis.

The role involves supporting production assets at the La Porte site as a member of the operations team. The Process Operator is expected to execute routine tasks to maintain the safe and reliable operation of the facility. Basic troubleshooting skills during unanticipated process upsets, as well as collaboration with support functions (Maintenance, Logistics, etc.), are essential to address operational challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the manager to improve 5S practices and follow-up actions.
• Assist in process improvements and ensure standards are maintained.
• Participate in testing and training personnel on new test procedures.
• Adhere to stewardship and safety policies.
• Operate process equipment such as valves, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, hoses, etc.
• Follow standard operating procedures when executing tasks.
• Maintain operational discipline for routine tasks.
• Perform process rounds, collect operating data, and report conditions outside expected ranges.
• Investigate and troubleshoot abnormal conditions or equipment malfunctions.
• Collect and analyze process samples.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance by isolating hazardous energy sources (LOTO).
• Identify emerging risks that could impact safety, reliability, or product quality.
• Authorize work activities using G2O’s safe work permitting processes.
• Participate in structured problem-solving efforts as needed.
• Engage in drills to enhance emergency response preparedness.
• Perform other activities as directed by supervision.

Qualifications:

• 0-3 years of experience operating a chemical manufacturing facility, whether continuous or batch process.
• Desire to contribute value within a team-based manufacturing environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Availability to work a Monday-Friday 2PM-10PM schedule, with flexibility for additional shifts.
• Willingness to work overtime, holidays, nights, and weekends as required.
• Preparedness to be on call and respond to site responsibilities and emergencies.
