SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

The Sr. Change Manager works in a lead technical capacity with our business partners and other IT organizations to align technology solutions and/or processes with Information Technology and business strategies. Demonstrates an informed knowledge within the function to resolve problems and assist with improvement of processes, on an ongoing basis. Supports several moderately complex business processes. May be allocated part time to one or more enterprise project initiatives of moderate to highly complexity.

The Manager may manage one or more IT processes within one functional area provided to one or more internal and external customer(s).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Responsible for providing tactical (day-to-day) management of IT Change Management process and supervising a team of change analysts/technologists, including training, delegating daily tasks, and providing SME guidance on ITIL principles, processes, and procedures.
  2. Monitor the Change Management Process for improvement opportunities and propose recommendations.
  3. Collaborate with process owners to ensure change management efforts align with strategic plans.
  4. Design change authority hierarchy and criteria for Requests for Change (RFCs).
  5. Design change models and workflows; ensure configuration data availability to support other service management processes; define the structure of the configuration management system.
  6. Assist in governing disciplines like Change, Release, Configuration, and Project Lifecycle Management.
  7. Collect, analyze, and document service management activities.
  8. Work with other process owners for integrated design and implementation of change, configuration, release, and testing processes.
  9. Draft and update Change Management process, policy, procedures, and training documentation annually.
  10. Monitor and analyze metrics to ensure customer satisfaction.
  11. Review risk information for potential issues and develop mitigation plans.
  12. Verify quality and completion of change implementation requirements.
  13. Facilitate Change Advisory Board meetings to assess change activities and validate milestones.
  14. Participate in planning sessions for projects or new technologies to implement process improvements; document discussions and facilitate reviews and meetings.
  15. Establish liaison relationships with business partners and IT departments to provide process solutions and promote understanding of IT Service Management roles and processes.
  16. Assess process improvement needs through structured requirements gathering and analysis.
  17. Collaborate with IT Service Management vendors and departments to enhance tools and processes.
  18. Lead planning sessions and document agreements related to process improvements and new technology implementations.
  19. Promote understanding of ITSM roles and activities across units and support formal reporting.
  20. Perform timely updates of Configuration Items in the CMDB.
